Labor & Delivery RN Job Details
- Job Title: Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) – Locum Tenens
- Employment Type: Locum tenens (Travel Nursing Contract)
- Location: Austin, TX 78758 (Texas healthcare jobs)
- Facility: State-of-the-art hospital with advanced clinical support
- Unit: Labor & Delivery / OB Emergency Department (OB ED)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 09/15/2025 – End: 12/15/2025)
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), rotating weekends, no call required
- Hours per Week: 36
- Patient Ratio: 1:2
- Scrub Color: Navy blue
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Texas or compact state)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
- Current BLS, ACLS, NRP, and STABLE certifications required
- Proficient in SVE, electronic fetal monitoring (EFM), and C-section circulation
- Intermediate fetal monitoring skills
- Strong team player with a positive attitude
- Internal monitor placement competency preferred
- Experience in Level IV or high-volume Labor & Delivery units preferred
Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality patient care in Labor & Delivery and OB ED settings
- Monitor maternal and fetal status using advanced equipment (Novii, JADA, Fetal Pillow, IUPC, FSE, Toco, US)
- Assist with and circulate for C-sections, spontaneous vaginal deliveries (SVDs), cerclages, and TOLAC procedures
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to achieve optimal patient outcomes
- Comply with hospital policies, procedures, and attendance guidelines
- Maintain accurate documentation using Meditech EMR
- Promote a supportive and positive environment for patients and staff
